The Sail for Gold Bar is organised by Mainsail Ltd., a marketing and communications company based in Cowes, Isle of Wight. Mainsail first set up the Sail for Gold Bar in 2003, following the successful organisation of the America's Cup Jubilee Parade Village in 2001.

Over the past few years Mainsail have worked with the Isle of Wight Council and Cowes Week Limited to build a thriving and exciting central hub of the regatta on the Parade - ideally located due to is close proximity to the Cowes Week Regatta Centre (from where the regatta is run), The Royal Yacht Squadron (from where the racing is run) and the Solent waters.
